Yes there is a Main Event going on today, it’s Day Four but there is another tournament going on as well. At 10 AM this morning Event #41 a $1,500 NLHE WSOP bracelet event began in the back of the main room….
Some of poker’s top names, including Daniel Negreanu, Joseph Hachem and Annie Duke, were among the 124 players still at the tables Saturday in the 37th annual World Series of Poker.
As brutal as yesterday was for many of the notable men, Day Three was kinder and gentler to the notable women in the field. Many of poker’s top name women still remain to battle it out on Day Four….
Defending champion Joseph Hachem exited the World Series of Poker Saturday and finished in 238th place. At about 12:30 a.m. ET, Jamie Gold held the most chips with 1.8 million.
Thousands of players qualify for the World Series of Poker, held in Las Vegas, by participating in cash-paying online rounds. So, can they play? A House bill would ban most internet gambling and the DOJ says web poker is a no-no.
At the beginning of day three, we had 1,159 players, most of which were trying thinking about cashing, and a good number that were also thinking about winning this thing….
The World Series of Poker is winding down in terms of number of events left to play, as the Main Event enters Day Four today. The second of six “Second Chance” events also begins today, Event 41, a two day No-Limit Texas Holdem tournament with a $1500 buy-in. Security will be tight around the Main Event tables and Amazon Room at the Rio All-Suite Hotel Casino will return to the crazy bustle it has experienced over the past weeks as players take their seats with their racks of chips and chase the dream of a coveted World Series of Poker bracelet….
