July 27 - Well known online poker room, Bodog.com, is sponsoring a group of celebrities to play in the Main Event of 2006 World Series of Poker (WSOP), which kicks off tomorrow (Friday, 28th July) in Las Vegas.

- MANIAC - A player who bets, raises and reraises without regard to the quality of his hand. Most often found in flop games.
- LAY ODDS - To give favorable odds to an opponent.
- BET FOR VALUE - Betting a hand that, in the long run, is expected to win more than it loses. Antonym: BLUFF.
- BIG BOBTAIL - An open-ended 4-card straight flush.
- POCKET PAIR - Generic Hold'em term for 2 hole cards of the same rank.
- FLOP - [1] In Hold'em, the first three community cards, dealt simultaneously. [2] To deal a flop, or to make a hand on a flop. "I flopped trips".
