House approves anti-gambling bill
The House of Representatives has commenced work on Bill HR 4411, the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 which consists of two Bills from Reps Goodlatte and Leach which seek to stop online gambling in the United States through financial restrictions and possible action against Internet Service Providers. Update: The anti-gambling bill has passed the house with an overwhelming 317 to 93 majority.

Poker lingo:
- STUD - Any of several poker games in which some of each players' cards are exposed.
- CARDS SPEAK - Winner(s) of the hand are determined by turning their cards face up, the best hand(s) wins (no declaration).
- BOARD - The exposed cards in Hold'em and stud. Also BOARD CARDS.
- OPEN - Make the first bet in a hand, especially in draw poker.
- CASE - The fourth card of a particular rank, as in "he folded the case 9" when describing where all the 9s were in a hand. Comes from the game of Faro where an employee of the house, called the "case keeper". kept track of the number of each rank of card remaining.
- RING GAME - A standard game where players can come and go as they choose. The opposite of TOURNAMENT.
