2006 WSOP: WSOP Rebuy Event to End Today
It was a scene that might remind one of the Hollywood depiction of the trading floor at the New York Stock Exchange: men and women waving fists full of paper, making declarations, buying and investing in a frenzy. It was not the stock market, however, but day one of Event 14, the $1,000 No-Limit Holdem event at the World Series of Poker, but with rebuys. Poker glossary:
- SUICIDE KING - King of Hearts. So named because in the drawing the king appears to be stabbing himself in the head.
- RERAISE - To raise after an opponent has raised.
- AMERICAN AIRLINES - In Hold'em, a pair of Aces in the hole. Better known (at least in rec.gambling) as POCKET ROCKETS.
- STUCK - Down a nontrivial amount of money, as in "he's stuck $800".
- NICKEL - Five dollars, usually represented by a red casino check.
- LOWBALL - Generic term for poker where the lowest hand wins.
