2006 WSOP: $2,000 Event at WSOP Starts Today
The action continues at the Rio All-Suite Hotel Casino in Las Vegas as three events run simultaneously on the first day of July. With Event 4 coming to a close and Event 5, the first short handed event of the season, in day two, participants will take their seats at Event 6, the $2,000 buy in No Limit Hold ‘em tournament, which will run for three days. This is the second full handed No Limit event to be held and, if the numbers from the first are any indication, could be another record breaker in terms of attendance for this year’s WSOP…

Poker dictionary:
- THIRD STREET - In Stud, the third card dealt to each player.
- PROP - Also PROPOSITION PLAYER. An employee of the gaming establishment whose primary purpose is to keep enough players at a table to prevent breaking up the game for lack of players. Unlike SHILLs "props" make a small hourly wage but play with their own money, winning or losing based on their skill.
- POT LIMIT - A game where the maximum bet is determined by the size of the pot at the time. Note that a player wanting to raise first calls the bet, then totals the pot to determine the maximum amount he can raise.
- TURN - The fourth community card in Hold'em.
- DOOR [CARD] - A player's first upcard in stud games.
- POCKET PAIR - Generic Hold'em term for 2 hole cards of the same rank.
