Poker Game Leads to 30 Person Arrest
In many parts of the United States of America poker clubs and personal residences have been raided by law enforcement officials over the last year, with arrests being made and funds and gambling equipment being seized over sometimes murky interpretation of gambling law as it relates to poker. In Spain, however, a particular poker game was raided and arrests were made, but not over gambling law but rather a property scandal to the tune of three million euros. - RAISE - To wager more than the minimum required to call, forcing other players to put in more money as well.
- STRING BET - An unethical and often illegal means of raising whereby a player puts a call-size stack of chips into the pot and, after observing the reactions of the players, then goes back to his stack and puts out more, thus raising.
- FAMILY POT - A pot where all of the players at the table are participating, even after each has had an opportunity to act.
