Pearl River Resort opens new poker room
Pearl River Resort officials unveiled the new Sports Ticker Poker Room in a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday. The resort shifted the poker room from Silver Star Hotel & Casino to the Golden Moon Hotel & Casino Sports Ticker lounge.

Poker jargon:
- OPEN-HANDED - A category of games characterized by a part of each player's hand being exposed.
- POSSIBLE [STRAIGHT/FLUSH] - Up cards that quite possibly could lead to a straight and/or a flush.
- SHARK - A good/crafty player often posing as a fish early in the game.
- LOWBALL - Generic term for poker where the lowest hand wins.
- POCKET ROCKETS - In Hold'em, a pair of aces for hole cards.
- ASSAULT RIFLE - In Omaha, hole cards that are A-K-4-7 of any suit(s).
