Poker players want jury trial to challenge gambling law
(Mount Pleasant-AP) May 31, 2006 - A group of poker players arrested for gambling in Mount Pleasant have asked for a jury trial in an effort to change the state’s 200-year-old law which bans games of cards and dice.

Poker slang:
- BLUFF - To make a bet or raise with a poor hand, in hope that the remaining active player(s) will fold.
- TOP TWO PAIR - In flop games, having hole cards that make the highest possible two pair hand.
- FIFTH STREET - In stud poker, the fifth card to be dealt to each player. Sometimes used to refer to the last card dealt in Hold'em, although the more common term for this is RIVER (q.v.).
- STACKED [DECK] - A deck that has been arranged to give one player a huge advantage. Also: RIGGED.
- CHASE - To continue in a hand, often at poor odds, in the hopes of catching a much better hand. "He called, chasing the flush.".
- CAP - To cap the betting is to make the last permitted raise in a round.
