Online Poker Room Promises More Money to WSOP Champ
Last year was another record breaker for the World Series of Poker, with the new champion, Joe Hachem, taking home $7.5 million (tax free, thanks to a loophole in Australian law.) This year promises an even bigger jackpot, likely $10 million, and one online poker room wants to add $2 million on top of that.
If this year’s WSOP Champion qualified for the event through PrestoPoker.com’s daily WSOP satellites, then PrestoPoker will fork over $2 million in icing for the cake. The poker room is trying to recruit the best of the best to qualify via their site, and garner a bit of publicity in the meanwhile. The daily satellites are a big draw, as is multilingual support and supposedly loose action….

- THIRD STREET - In Stud, the third card dealt to each player.
- OVERCALL - To call a bet after one or more players already called.
- OPEN-ENDED STRAIGHT - Four cards to a straight which can be completed by drawing a card at either end. E.g., 6-7-8-9 is an open-ended straight. Also: BOBTAIL STRAIGHT. Compare: INSIDE STRAIGHT.
- STAND OFF - To call a raise. "Opener raises, I stand off".
- SEAT POSITION - The actual seat a player has, normally numbered sequentially starting with 1 as the first seat to dealer's left. Not to be confused with POSITION in a particular pot.
