PartyGaming revenues surge on record poker sign-ups
LONDON (AFX) - PartyGaming PLC, the world’s biggest online gaming group, posted a 54 pct rise in quarterly revenues after signing up record numbers of new poker players and buoyed by the recent introduction of a new integrated gambling platform.

Poker lexicon:
- BOAT - A FULL HOUSE, three of a kind and a pair.
- SIDE POT - When an active player runs out of money during the course of a hand, the remaining players participate in a second or SIDE POT for the rest of the hand. Additional side pots are possible if several players run out of money at different points in a hand.
- POT ODDS - The amount of money in the pot divided by the amount of money you must bet in order to call. Often used to determine if a pot offers enough reward to play on the come.
- SUICIDE KING - King of Hearts. So named because in the drawing the king appears to be stabbing himself in the head.
- RUNNER-RUNNER - A hand made using both of the last two cards dealt.
- ONE-EYED - The jack of hearts, jack of spades or king of diamonds. So named because the characters are drawn in profile, thus showing only one eye.
