A Texas Hold ‘em poker tournament will be held after the races on April 15 at the Embassy Suites at 211 E. Huntington Dr., Arcadia, to benefit ailing Ross Fenstermaker, trainer Eddie Truman said.

  • CALLER - One who calls. Sometimes used collectively, as in "3 callers".

Jackpots are usually financed by taking a drop ($1 is a common amount) from every pot. A typical division of the jackpot will give the losing hand 50 %, the winning hand 25 %, and the other players at the table share the remaining 25 % of the Jackpot.
  • BET - To put money into the pot, pursuant to the rules of the game, thus maintaining a chance of winning the pot.
  • UNDERDOG - Before all the cards are dealt, a hand that does not figure to be the winner. Ant: FAVORITE.
