Tom Schneider, host of Texas’ first and only televised poker tournament series, TrueTexasPoker, outlasted a field of 589 players to earn a spot on the televised final table at the World Poker Challenge in Reno, NV.

Poker lingo:
- ON TILT - Playing worse (usually, more aggressively) than usual because a player has become emotionally upset.
- PAT - Holding or being dealt a pat hand. "I'm pat" would mean "I don't want to draw any cards.
- ON THE COME - A situation where the player does not have a complete hand but hopes to make one if the right cards come up.
- NUT / NUTS - The best possible hand of a given class. Not a LOCK unless all cards have been dealt. The "nut flush" is the highest possible flush, but might still lose to, e.g., a full house. Usually used in Hold'em games.
- BET - To put money into the pot, pursuant to the rules of the game, thus maintaining a chance of winning the pot.
- THIRD STREET - In Stud, the third card dealt to each player.
