Bureaucratic Buffoons Doom the Dome: Fox Sports poker show in jeopardy
The Nevada Gaming Control Board (GCB) has dealt a low blow to Fox Sports Network (FSN), potentially spelling the end for its poker game show idea, by imposing restrictions on the network’s planned Pokerdome venue. FSN had planned to build a specially-constructed poker arena, dubbed the Pokerdome, to act as a studio in which poker games involving the world’s greatest players would be filmed and watched by a live audience. Whereas the TV network has stressed the "game show" element of the events it wishes to stage, the Board views the Pokerdome as a planned gambling establishment that is thus subject to specific and detailed building regulations.
