Poker tournaments hosted by a Dixon resident are scheduled to be discussed Tuesday by the City Council. As requested by Councilman Steve Alexander, a report regarding Texas Hold ‘Em tournaments hosted by Greg Coppes is an agenda. Useful poker information:
- ROLLED UP - In seven-card stud, being dealt three of a kind in the first three cards.
- RIVER - The last card dealt in a hand of stud or Hold'em.
- SUITED - Two or more cards all the same suit. Ant: OFF-SUIT.
- BICYCLE - The best possible low hand: A-2-3-4-5. More common term: WHEEL.
- PAT HAND - In draw poker, a hand that does not need any more cards. Specifically, a straight, flush, full house or straight flush. One might bluff and represent a pat hand but actually hold something else.
- BET FOR VALUE - Betting a hand that, in the long run, is expected to win more than it loses. Antonym: BLUFF.
