Players Get Seats at Four Major Poker Tournaments through Borgata’s Ultimate Supersatellite

This week in Atlantic City, over 400 poker players paid the $1,000 buy-in fee to enter the Borgata’s Ultimate Supersatellite Poker Tournament. What makes this supersatellite "ultimate," you might ask? As opposed to traditional supersatellites, where the winner earns a seat at a major tournament’s main event, this supersatellite awarded six players free seats at four major poker tournament main events. The six lucky winners also got $4,500 from the Borgata, as spending money to accompany their $55,500-valued main event seats.

  • IMPLIED ODDS - A refinement to POT ODDS which includes money not yet in the pot. Considers the potential extra bets and winnings made when a player forms a very good hand.
  • CHASE - To continue in a hand, often at poor odds, in the hopes of catching a much better hand. "He called, chasing the flush.".
  • HOOK - A Jack. So named because the "J" resembles a hook.
  • FREE CARD - A card dealt after all players checked in a betting round.
  • ACTION - Money that is being bet. "NO ACTION" means a hand or game has few bettors and fewer raisers. "Gimme some action" is ostensibly a plea for calls and raises.
