Iowa Shops Inspired by Poker Runs
One of the most successful ways charities have of getting people out and involved in their cause not to mentions raising a little cash to help out along the way are poker runs, events where participants travel a specific route, collecting poker cards and trying to make the best poker hands. A few small businesses in O’Brien County, Iowa, figured out a way to emulate the popular format of poker runs to drum up awareness of their small town shops.

Poker jargon:
- TAP - In no-limit games, to wager all of one's money in one bet.
- FIRE - To make the first bet in a betting round. Used to emphasize that the player bet when a check was possible, showing strength.
- OVERPAIR - In Hold'em, a pair in the hole that is larger than any community card on the board.
- COMPUTER HAND - Texas Hold'em hole cards of Q-7 offsuit. More generically, any hand that computer analysis/simulation determines is positive but turns out to be difficult to play in practice.
- SEMI-BLUFF - To bluff with a come hand that figures to win if it hits.
- CRYING CALL - A call made with little chance of ultimately winning, but marginally better than an immediate fold.
