By David Angier, The News Herald, Panama City, Fla. Mar. 18–An appeals court Friday busted a play by the state wagering division to halt no-limit poker tournaments because they are dangerous to public health, safety or welfare.

 

One of the UK’s top poker players, Dave ‘Devilfish’ Ulliott, has inked a deal with Game Theory Ltd., a subsidiary of online poker network Excapsa Software Inc., to launch an online poker site. As part of the exclusive licensing agreement, players who register on Ulliott’s site will be able to play poker against any player on the Excapsa Poker Network.

 

Local tournaments that depended on Reece’s Las Vegas tournament operator for their chips, cards and tables may have to find another supplier now that the company’s owner had been charged with taking more money than was his from the charities he was involved with. The court papers filed against Reece Powers, claiming he stole from a number of schools and other organizations. Powers denies the claim, trying to get the idea across that he makes plenty of money for his company with his business, and would not do anything to put that cash flow in jeopardy…

Snooker hall club owner Connie O’Sullivan, from Killarney, took first place at the recent Munster Open in Limerick, playing at the Greenhills Hotel on Saturday.
