CHARLOTTE, N.C. A group of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools students helped raise money for Habitat for Humanity on Saturday at a charity poker tournament.
MONTE CARLO, MONACO — A 19-year-old freshman from the University of Georgia has won more than $1 million and the top spot in the European Poker Tour’s Grand Final.
The winner of the European Poker Tour (EPT) Final may have earned over $1 million for his victory, but his poker career may be put on hold due to the fact that he’s not even old enough to play in most major American casinos. University of Georgia freshman Jeff Williams took the top prize, but seeing that he’s just 19 years of age, he’ll have to wait a while before he can step foot into the Las Vegas casinos where the most prestigious poker action takes place. And that means, of course, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) as well.
