Dream Poker Tournament Won
For every amateur poker player out there, the idea of being sponsored for a year in 12 major poker tournaments would be a dream come true, which is exactly what is happening for Newport Beach, CA resident Jim Davenport after he won the Poker Room.com event, “Become A Poker Pro.” The event, held aboard Royal Caribbean’s Majesty of the Seas cruise ship, pitted Jim against a field of hopefuls, and in the end Jim came out on top. His prize? $60,000 and a year’s worth of sponsoring from the online poker room, which means that 12 events will be paid for, including travel and accommodations, over the next 12 months.
