Crime Deck May Help When Cons Play Poker
When the war in Iraq was well underway, a novel method of assisting in the capture of terrorists and other targets of the United States got a lot of media attention when figures like Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden were placed on a deck of playing cards. The cards, which have been successful in aiding in the capture of the wanted men, have spawned and inspired a new deck, this one to aid Florida police solve unsolved crimes.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office put together a standard deck of 52 playing cards, each with details of cold cases; the decks have been handed out to Florida prisoners in the hopes they may be able to help solve the crimes. The Crime Stoppers playing cards have already helped, having been credited with the arrests of two murder suspects….

- FAVORITE - Before all the cards are dealt, a hand that figures to be the winner. Ant: UNDERDOG.
- RAIL - A barrier dividing the card playing area from a public area.
- OVER - A term used in describing two pair or a full house. "Kings over tens" means two pair, kings and tens. "Jacks over", also "Jacks up" describes a hand that is two pair: Jacks with an unspecified lower pair. Also used to describe a full house, distinguishing the three of a kind from the pair. The hand J-J-J-A-A could be described as "Full house, Jacks over Aces".
- LEAK - To show one's hole cards (often unknowingly).
- LOOSE - Playing more hands than the norm. Antonym: TIGHT.
- OUT - [1] A card that will improve your hand, often substantially. A hand with many OUTS is preferable to a hand with only 1 or 2. [2] Folded, ineligible to bet or win this hand. "I'm out" is often a synonym for "I fold".
