Horse Owner Names Filly After Poker Pro Annie Duke
No, we’re not horsing around. Jim Switlyk, in the horse racing business for three years, actually named a one-year-old filly after Annie Duke, arguably
the world’s most well-known female poker player. Switlyk, a Jersey man, was inspired to saddle the horse with Duke’s name based on the horse’s lineage. Coming from a line of horses with names like "Annie’s Surprise" and "Cam’s Card Shark," "Annie Duke" seemed like a perfect fit for the filly.
