In its bid to trump other online poker sites, Bet365 Poker is holding a tournament competition, the winner of which will receive free seats at 44 out of the 45 events at the 2006 World Series of Poker (WSOP) to be held this summer.

 

MANITOBA As reported by the CBC News: “Another Texas hold’em poker tournament has been shut down by the Manitoba Gaming Control Commission.

 

It seems that professional poker players are popping out of the woodwork these days, but in reality it is not as easy as many make it seem. There is the matter of travel fees, room and board, not to mention buy ins to poker tournaments that can exceed ten thousand dollars; for many a professional poker player it takes the right kind and amount of backing to even make an attempt at the poker big time. One online poker room is hoping to give a lucky player the chance to turn pro with an endorsement deal.

Another Texas hold’em poker tournament has been shut down by the Manitoba Gaming Control Commission. Five rural bars in Lac du Bonnet, Beausejour, Pine Falls and Pinawa were hosting Eastman Poker Tournament to raise money to build a new outdoor rink in Lac du Bonnet.

 

It has been reported that two new poker rooms are likely to debut on the Las Vegas poker scene. With poker’s popularity still showing no signs of leveling off, the addition of two new poker rooms is just Las Vegas’ response to popular demand. The two casinos reportedly set to add poker rooms to their gaming offerings are Treasure Island and O’ Shea’s.

 

Debby Cuneo, of Egg Harbor Township, bided her time Saturday. She folded hand after hand in a single-table poker tournament.Finally, she made her move. As the big blind in a No Limit Texas Hold ‘Em contest, forced to be in the pot, she went all-in with a pair of eights. Her entire stack of $1,350 in tournament chips went into the kitty. The cards were turned face up, and the dealer turned over five community cards. Cuneo’s low pair held up, and she doubled her stack.“I had no choice,” Cuneo said
