Poker party robberies on the rise
MANASSAS, Va., Feb. 21 (UPI) — Police across the United States say private homes are ripe for robbery given the sharp rise in the popularity of poker, a report said.

Poker slang:
- TOURNAMENT - A highly structured game involving potentially dozens of tables where all participants pay an entry fee and obtain a fixed number of chips. Once a tournament has started, additional players may not enter. As the game progresses players bust out and are eliminated until only one winner remains.
- OPEN - Make the first bet in a hand, especially in draw poker.
- FLAT LIMIT - A variant of fixed limit where all bets are the same amount.
- SEMI-BLUFF - To bluff with a come hand that figures to win if it hits.
- SHOWDOWN - The point at the end of the hand where all active players reveal their cards and the pot is awarded to the winner(s).
- TOP PAIR - In flop games, having a hole card that matches the highest card on the board.
