FEBRUARY 15, 2006 — Pacific Sportswear Co. recently became the official licensee for World Poker Tour terrycloth headbands and wristbands, along with a charity-driven silicone wristband to benefit Operation USA. Operation USA is an international relief and development non-profit charity.
On the heels of several 8-liner raids and arrests in Cameron County, many Action 4 News viewers are questioning the legality of poker tournaments, hosted by nonprofit organizations.
Western Australian Opposition Leader Matt Birney has revealed he also met James Packer this week while the PBL chief was in Perth to lobby for poker machines at Burswood Casino.
Clubs New South Wales has offered the State Government a compromise deal over the issue of poker machine taxes.
According to Bodog Entertainment founder Calvin Ayre, it will only be a matter of time before the sites reality show makes its way in front of American viewers. Ayre, who is also the CEO of Bodog Entertainment, has said that a major US TV network is already attached to the show, which will be shot in a tropical vacation spot in Costa Rica in March. Six episodes are planned, and they will air each week on Saturdays starting April 15th, running from 23.00 to 01.00…
