Texas Holdem Game Raided In Clinton Township
Thursday, February 9, 2006, the Imperial House banquet center was raided by police. The center, located in Clinton Township, was supposed to be the location of an illegal no-limit Texas Holdem game, according to the tip off received by the police. When police arrived they indeed caught the game in action, with the force led by Clinton Township Police Captain Fred Posavetz stopping play and seizing poker chips, playing cards, nearly $50,000 in cash from the nearly 100 players.
A seating chart, cash bar and even a big prize for the eventual winner all pointed to a well organized event…

- BIG SLICK - In Texas Hold'em, hole cards of A-K, suited or not.
- AMERICAN AIRLINES - In Hold'em, a pair of Aces in the hole. Better known (at least in rec.gambling) as POCKET ROCKETS.
- LOCK - A hand that cannot be beat under any circumstances. Also: NUTS.
- WALK - A pot won by the last blind when no one opens.
- BET - To put money into the pot, pursuant to the rules of the game, thus maintaining a chance of winning the pot.
- BACK DOOR - Applies to a hand that was made in the last card or two, specifically not a hand the player was originally planning on having. Most often applied to straights and flushes.
