Texas has said no to charity poker. But El Paso charities have an ace up their sleeve: Juárez.
Clinton Township police raided a gambling party Thursday night in a banquet hall where more than 50 people had gathered to play Texas Hold ‘em poker. The party was at the Imperial House, 34701 Groesbeck, police said. Tipped off several days before, police set up surveillance and, at 7 p.m., 15 plainclothes and uniformed officers conducted a raid, seizing more than $50,000.
