A poker attendant accused of stealing $1,098 from his employer to play poker has entered a guilty plea on Rota. Ricky Salibad Luis, 33, pleaded guilty to theft during a change of plea hearing in the Superior Court on Rota.

 

North Dakota state representative Jim Kasper is an ardent proponent of bringing online poker to his state. Being illegal under U.S. law, all online poker rooms are currently based offshore, despite the fact that most of the poker player pool resides in North America. Kasper has been spearheading a movement to make online poker legally based in North Dakota, championing the idea that the tax revenues gained would benefit state programs immensely. Although Kasper had succeeded in getting a bill passed by the state house of representatives, it failed in the senate last year.

 

The parent company of the World Poker Tour has enlisted Thomas Weisel Partners LLC to explore options, including a sale or merger, to help the company grow.
