Party Gamings Party Poker Numbers
Last year Party Poker, the online poker room that is among the largest and most popular on the Internet today, signed up nearly 850,000 new poker players, nearly three quarters of which came from the United States, according to the fourth quarter trading update released by Party Pokers owners, Party Gaming. The outfit is listed in London as a public company.
Revenues for the quarter were up to $320.3 million USD, which is a 65 percent increase, compared to the $149 million USD for the same quarter the year before. Total net online poker revenue from the core company (not including the skin companies) showed a 31 percent increase from the year before, up to $233.7 million USD…

Poker slang:
- BELLY BUSTER - An inside straight draw. Same as GUTSHOT.
- STAKE - The amount of a player's BUY-IN, or the amount of money they are willing to play with in a given session. Compare: BANKROLL.
- FREEZE-OUT - A table-stakes game that continues until a small number of players (possibly only one) has all the money. The major event in The World Series of Poker is a freeze-out game.
- KICKER - In hands containing pairs and trips, the highest card not matched. In draw games, sometimes a card kept for deception purposes.
- DOYLE BRUNSON - In Hold'em, 10-2 in the hole. So named because Doyle Brunson won two straight WSOPs (q.v.) in 1975 and 1976 with 10-2 on the last hand. (Suited (spades) in 1975, unsuited in 1976).
- POT - The total amount of money bet so far in a hand.
