Lottery Takes Aim At Folding Video Poker
North Carolina legislators approved a state lottery in August of 2005, and many of them were hoping that would bring an end to video poker in the state. As put by the Lincoln County Sheriff deputy Jeff Warlick , the idea is for the lottery to clear out video poker wholesale.
The problem long facing law makers and law enforcers in North Carolina was the illegal payouts to video poker game players by the machine’s owners, something that was not only against the law but simply circulated money in the private gaming industry. The hopes for the new lottery are that players will take a shot a millions instead of a few illicit twenties, and that the money will go to help strengthen the state’s infrastructure….
