Putting a Cork in the Irish Poker Championships, Local Yokel Takes the Pot O’ Gold
Kieran Walsh, a business student from Cork, Ireland, can count himself a lucky man; he’s just won 150,000 coming in first place at the Irish Poker Championships. Proving that the Irish never quit, Kieran emerged victorious over 499 other blokes in the three-day No-Limit Texas Hold ‘em event. With a 1,000 buy-in, it meant a 500,000 prize pool was distributed among the tournament winners.
