Poker tourney comes to Fairmont
You got to know when to hold them and when to fold them to make it through a Texas Hold’em tournament. Or, maybe you just need some luck.
Brenda Larson, who won the first week of the Texas Hold’em satellite tournament at Torge’s, had played the game once in a while with friends but had no experience in poker competition. That didn’t stop her from taking the top spot at Tuesday’s game.
“I just played with what I had and it just happened to work,” said Larson, who beat out 95 other contestants for first place.
The four-week World Poker Tour Texas Hold’em satellite tournament being held at Torge’s will continue this Tuesday.
It’s free for people to play. The Minnesota Poker League provides the tables and chips to Torge’s, and each player receives $1,500 in chips…
