PokerStars to Investigate Sale or Float Options
The year in poker for 2006, yes that’s right, 2006, is already off to a big start with the announcement of the sale of online poker giant, PokerStars. According to a Times (U.K.) report, the second largest online poker platform and its players are set to make the predominantly family-owned company very rich. Early reports indicate that the company’s value is estimated to be in close to $2 billion (US).

Poker slang:
- FAMILY POT - A pot where all of the players at the table are participating, even after each has had an opportunity to act.
- LAY ODDS - To give favorable odds to an opponent.
- FISH - A player who loses money. An old saying is "If you can't spot the fish at the table, *you* are the fish.".
- SUICIDE KING - King of Hearts. So named because in the drawing the king appears to be stabbing himself in the head.
- ON THE COME - A situation where the player does not have a complete hand but hopes to make one if the right cards come up.
- BIG BLIND - A blind bet, usually a raise of an earlier blind which would be called the SMALL BLIND. In limit poker, the BIG BLIND is usually the size of the minimum bet on the first round of betting.
