Spears + Federline get cosy at dad’s poker party launch
Britney Spears and Kevin Federline showed a united front as they helped the pop star’s dad launch his new computer programme venture that helps wannabe poker promoters run their own card tournament at home.
The couple weren’t talking to the press at the low-key event, held at Las Vegas, Nevada’s Palms Hotel + Casino on Thursday (05 JAN 06), but they were obviously still very much an item, despite recent reports they’re on the verge of splitting up.
The couple arrived at the party hand in hand and Britney spent much of the evening right next to her husband…

Poker terminology:
- TRIPS - Three of a kind. In Hold'em the term SET is used when two of the three cards are hole cards.
- BIG SLICK - In Texas Hold'em, hole cards of A-K, suited or not.
- BARN - A FULL HOUSE, three of a kind and a pair.
- STACKED [DECK] - A deck that has been arranged to give one player a huge advantage. Also: RIGGED.
- EXPECTATION - The long-run [dis-]advantage of a given situation, specifically without reference to any particular outcome. I.e., what you figure to win [lose] on average after a large number of repetitions of the same situation.
- DOUBLE BELLY BUSTER - A two-way inside straight. E.g., 3-5-6-7-9.
