Alamo Poker Tour Has First Winner

The Home of Texas Hold ‘Em is setting the standards for land based poker tournaments with the conclusion of the first event on the Alamo Poker Tour.

Alamo Poker’s formula of celebrities, pros and locals playing poker together for a great cause is a winning one.

More than 100 entrants including professional poker players such as Marcel Luske “The Flying Dutchman,” professional athletes Dan “Hollywood” Henderson of UFC fame and Carlos Polk of the San Diego Chargers along with a variety of celebrities including guitarist Don Felder of the legendary Eagles joined together for two days of competitive Texas Hold ‘Em play for cash money and charity…

Poker slang:

  • SUITED - Two or more cards all the same suit. Ant: OFF-SUIT.
  • TOP PAIR - In flop games, having a hole card that matches the highest card on the board.
  • STAND OFF - To call a raise. "Opener raises, I stand off".
  • IMPLIED ODDS - A refinement to POT ODDS which includes money not yet in the pot. Considers the potential extra bets and winnings made when a player forms a very good hand.
  • FULL OF - Describes a full house. "Fives full of queens" is 5-5-5-Q-Q.
  • BARN - A FULL HOUSE, three of a kind and a pair.
