New Website Helps Online Poker Players Find a Seat at the WSOP

Wouldn’t you love the chance to sit and play poker with the pros at the World Series of Poker Main Event? Most poker players, however, probably find it hard to scrape together the $10,000 buy-in fee, so they hope to qualify via an online satellite. A website, www.wsopseat.com, has just been launched with the aim of helping all online poker players easily find ways to earn a seat at the prestigious championship tournament.

Poker jargon:

  • FIFTH STREET - In stud poker, the fifth card to be dealt to each player. Sometimes used to refer to the last card dealt in Hold'em, although the more common term for this is RIVER (q.v.).
  • FREEZE-OUT - A table-stakes game that continues until a small number of players (possibly only one) has all the money. The major event in The World Series of Poker is a freeze-out game.
  • LOWBALL - Generic term for poker where the lowest hand wins.
  • TIGHT - [1] A style of play that entails playing fewer hands than average. Antonym: LOOSE. [2] A FULL HOUSE.
  • RING GAME - A standard game where players can come and go as they choose. The opposite of TOURNAMENT.
  • SHARK - A good/crafty player often posing as a fish early in the game.
