Tribe can operate video poker, judge says
A judge in Columbia has ruled the Catawba Indian Nation has the right to operate a video poker establishment on the tribe’s land in York County.
Under a 1993 land settlement under which the tribe was repaid for the loss of 144,000 acres of land in upstate South Carolina, the tribe was given the right to operate 2 gaming establishments, one in York County and one elsewhere in the state.

Poker lexicon:
- FLAT LIMIT - A variant of fixed limit where all bets are the same amount.
