In San Andres, CA, the Calaveras County Sheriff investigators are attempting to solve a mystery: who is responsible for a series of burglaries at a RV and boat storage facility, known as the Poker Flat.
When a property owner discovered his motorhome had been broken into, investigators arrived at the yard to look around. The Poker Flat is in a gated community, and on the premises of the storage yard officer found 17 other motorhomes had either been broken into as well or vandalized. Poker argot:
- MISDEAL - A hand dealt incorrectly that must be re-dealt.
- DECLARE - In high/low games, declaring one's hand as high or low or both ways (usually done with chips in hand). Usually played in home games; casinos tend to play CARDS SPEAK.
- OPEN-ENDED STRAIGHT - Four cards to a straight which can be completed by drawing a card at either end. E.g., 6-7-8-9 is an open-ended straight. Also: BOBTAIL STRAIGHT. Compare: INSIDE STRAIGHT.
