166 poker-related theft cases in last four years
At least 634 crimes and offenses took place at poker establishments in the last four years, according to the Department of Public Safety. DPS data, as reported by a Northern Marianas College class, showed that theft was most common crime committed at poker rooms.

Casino poker language:
- STRAIGHT FLUSH - A hand consisting of 5 cards in sequence and the same suit.
- LOCK - A hand that cannot be beat under any circumstances. Also: NUTS.
- ONE-EYED - The jack of hearts, jack of spades or king of diamonds. So named because the characters are drawn in profile, thus showing only one eye.
- RUNNER-RUNNER - A hand made using both of the last two cards dealt.
- BOAT - A FULL HOUSE, three of a kind and a pair.
- PAT HAND - In draw poker, a hand that does not need any more cards. Specifically, a straight, flush, full house or straight flush. One might bluff and represent a pat hand but actually hold something else.
